Ok, so we took some time off of ttc and here we are with a BFP! I can’t believe it!

We found out in October but I didn’t want to write about until we were in our 2nd trimester. I think going through a miscarriage really makes you nervous for the next time. I almost spilled the beans a month ago but I thought it best to wait. We are 15 weeks along now and so glad to be out of the 1st trimester for more reasons than one;)

We decided not to really “try” again until around January but we weren’t going to protect against it either. I feel it helped me not to think about it so strictly (my hubby, too). I didn’t check my temp each morning or my CM. My Hubby and I just relaxed and focused on each other. It was nice and calm with no pressure. I really think that helped. I also think my body was just now really ready to do this again. I’ve read that it takes some couples six months to a year for the woman’s body to be fully ready to conceive again after a miscarriage.

Not to say that charting isn’t helpful. Without charting I would not have been as aware of when I ovulate and the best times for us to conceive. Since every woman’s cycle is different, charting really helps for you to get to know your own body.

I use the software from the Taking Charge of Your Fertility. www.ovusoft.com There are also some iphone apps out there that are good, but they don’t really calculate your ovulation based on your temp and CM like the Taking Charge of Your Fertility software does but there are convenient if you have an iphone or ipod touch. I like Woman Calendar. You can find it and others if you do a search for “fertility” in the App Store.

Now we’re praying and hoping that everything goes well and that this pregnancy is healthy. We are certainly happy!
